Tampa Rated #1 City for Women Entrepreneurs

Business.org has rated Tampa Bay the best city in the U.S. for women looking to start a business in an article written by Joshua Adamson-Pickett. They studied 107 metropolitan areas, using five metrics to establish a clear picture of each area’s climate for women entrepreneurs.

The study evaluated the percentage of women-owned businesses in the area, the number of new businesses per month, the gender-based pay gap, the unemployment rate for women, and the number of chapters of the National Association of Women Business Owners (NAWBO) in the area. Once they weighted these scores, Tampa Bay came out on top.

Two other Florida cities also made the top ten, with Greater Orlando ranked fourth and the Miami Metropolitan Area coming in at number ten.
