The National Gay and Lesbian Chamber of Commerce (NGLCC) will hold its 2019 annual convention in Tampa, reports Frances McMorris in the Tampa Bay Business Journal.

The convention will be held from August 13-16, and is expected to bring $2.1 million dollars of revenue into the area.

The NGLCC is an advocacy organization dedicated to serving LGBTQ+ economic interests, from promoting LGBTQ businesses and healthcare providers to ensuring equal economic opportunities for LGBTQ-owned businesses.

The event will take place at the Tampa Marriott Waterside Hotel & Marina, the Embassy Suites, and the Tampa Convention Center. Delegates from the NGLCC visited Tampa in March to evaluate those locations and several others.

Visit Tampa Bay and the Tampa Bay Diversity Chamber of Commerce collaborated with local organizers Ashley Brundage and Whitney Brundage to secure the conference’s location.

Ashley Brundage, vice president and inclusion officer for PNC Bank, stated, “We are honored to have Tampa chosen to host NGLCC in 2019. We will welcome corporate partners, chamber leaders, LGBTBE’s and more, with the opportunity to showcase Tampa Bay as an inclusive, culturally rich, and diverse community.” She added that she will continue to work with Visit Tampa Bay to attract similar opportunities in the future.
