Event Details

Join Mayor Sam Henderson and City Councilmember Paul Ray at the LGBTQ Flag Raising at the Gulfport Public Library on Thursday, May 31st at 6 p.m. The ceremony coincides with the opening of a month long exhibition of LGBTQ Gulfport Artists at the Gulfport Public Library.

“The City of Gulfport is dedicated to supporting the LGBTQ community and promoting an all-encompassing environment for our Patrons during National Pride Month, and all year-round,” said City Councilmember Ward III, Paul Ray.

The purpose of the LGBTQ Resource Center at the Gulfport Public Library is not only to provide a welcoming communal space to the large LGBTQ population of Gulfport and Pinellas County, but also to establish a sense of awareness and advocacy for a segment of the Gulfport community that is ingrained in the very fabric of the community; it’s history, unique sensibility, and accepting creative spirit. The LGBTQ Resource Center is a project of the non-profit Circle of Friends of the Gulfport Public Library.
