CocoWalk in Miami’s Coconut Grove neighborhood is partnering with local LGBTQ organization Pridelines
CocoWalk in Miami’s Coconut Grove neighborhood is partnering with local LGBTQ organization Pridelines to kick off National Pride Month in June with “CocoWalk Presents: Loud & Proud for PRIDE,” a community celebration at the Plaza taking place on Saturday, June 4th from 5-9 p.m.
The party on the Plaza will feature a live DJ, appearances and performances by Miami’s beloved drag queens Angie Ovahness (IG: @queenofheadstand) and Ketta Mina (IG: @kalahmendoza), and a pop-up bar curated and sponsored by Tito’s Handmade Vodka and PLANTA Queen.
As part of the celebration, the property’s signature panther at the entrance will be painted in a Pride design, by local artist Julija Kempf (IG: Inspire.Ju).
All proceeds from the pop-up bar will benefit Pridelines, a local organization rooted in the mission to support, educate, and empower South Florida’s lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, and questioning (LGBTQ) youth and community in safe and diverse spaces to promote dialogue, wellness, and to foster social change.
Other CocoWalk tenant activations in support of Pride taking place on June 4th will include women’s athletic wear retailer FP Movement hosting a Pride-inspired 5K run at 8 a.m., The Key Club, Botanico Gin & Cookhouse, and Sushi Garage creating specialty cocktails and donating a percentage of the proceeds to Pridelines, and Duck N’ Sum serving select complimentary dishes with suggested donations going to the organization. Miami florist The Flora Buds (IG: @theflorabuds) will also be selling Pride-themed flower bundles, with donations going to Pridelines.
