On April 27th, the Tampa Bay area will participate in the Dining Out For Life charity event to fight HIV/AIDS.

Various restaurants, which are listed on the Dining Out for Life website, can choose to participate for breakfast, lunch, dinner, or all three. During this time, at least 25 percent of their proceeds will go to a licensed HIV/AIDS service agency, although restaurants can and do donate more.

According to their website, “Dining Out For Life is the first dine-out fundraiser of its kind and has raised millions for HIV/AIDS service organizations across North America.”

Even more impressive, “In 2016, more than $35,000 was raised to fight HIV/AIDS in Tampa Bay.”

An estimated 1,000 diners will participate this Thursday in hopes of exceeding monetary amounts previously raised.

The event is not limited to Tampa Bay, however. Dining Out events are held across the U.S. and Canada, and the proceeds go to organizations local to the area of the event.

Ambassadors from Empath Partners in Care (EPIC) will also visit restaurants during the event to talk about the organization and raise awareness.
