5 Ways to Get Your Quarantine Body Beach Ready Now

We have all become incredibly familiar with Netflix binging, food delivery, and eating all the junk during quarantine. And while most of us thought things would come to an end, we now realize that this social isolation might last for a while. So, stop hiding in your house binging on bon bons! It’s time to get your act together and get your body beach ready…STAT. After all, the beach is one of the few places that can be enjoyed safely.

Here are our top tips to get your quarantine body under control and beach ready in no time:

1. Ditch the Ding Dongs for Bloat Busting Fruits and Veggies

Junk food and sweets may be comforting at the moment but they definitely add inches to your waistline. Ditch the sugar and treats for more fruit and veggies.

Not only will this help you feel better, be more mentally clear, and feel more refreshed but they also aid in dehydration and eliminating bloat. All this leads to you looking great and feeling far sexier in that swimsuit or Speedo.

Some of the best foods to incorporate for belly bloat-busting are cucumbers, watermelon, and other members of the cucurbit family and healthy sources of omega-3s like fish. Up your water intake as well. You should be drinking about half your body weight in ounces of water per day.

2. Find a Flattering Piece of Swimwear

Find a swimsuit that makes you feel great in your body. One that makes you feel hot and flatters your figure.

The swimsuit industry has changed immensely and there are tons more options than in previous seasons. And for those of you not crazy about the bikini thong, no worries! There are several extremely flattering swimsuit options as manufacturers embrace the fact that their primary customer is not a bikini model but a normal person.

New to arrive are vintage style bikinis with high-waisted bottoms and much more fabric than previous string bikini trends. Try a high thigh one piece with some accents on top to still feel sexy but keep your self-conscious bits covered.

Get a great coverup and you’re on the way to feeling fabulous on the sand.

3. Get Rid of That Unsightly Hair…There

Just like you’ve probably let your waistline go, you probably haven’t been addressing the hairiest regions of your body. But, don’t grab a pack of razors. Get with the times and book an electrolysis appointment!

Ditch the wax and razors, razor burn, and laser treatments that all offer temporary relief from unwanted hair and go with the more permanent solution so you can stop worrying about hair and have fun carefree.

Beyond the high costs of laser hair removal, there are several risks:

  1. Hypopigmentation (loss of skin color)
  2. Hyperpigmentation (intensified skin color)
  3. Keloids (raised scarring)
  4. Cherry Angiomas (mole-like skin growth made up of small blood vessels, or capillaries)

More importantly, lasers cannot separate the dermal papilla and the matrix (which makes a hair), so it doesn’t effectively kill the hair follicle. It only slows its growth.

Waxing is a temporary solution to a life long problem. Although effective in the short term, waxing will need lifelong repetition.

Electrolysis is FDA approved and is different from the rest of your hair removal options. It targets each individual hair follicle to get rid of the base and keep it from regrowing. While the other common treatments work on the surface level, this gets down to the literal root of the matter.

Concerned about discomfort or pain? Tampa’s expert Electrologist, Ritta Hanna with Electric Beauty Electrolysis, has the solution. With twice the speed of older machines, her new machine, the Apilus xCell Pur, is more efficient, rapid and comfortable than any other hair removal technology.

Apur xCell Pur Electrolysis Machine

Owing to its powerful circuits and stable currents, Apilus offers professional electrologists pinpoint precision capabilities and optimal settings that deliver the results you seek. You can finally say goodbye to unwanted hair, whether it be facial hair or body hair.

The device kills the hair below the skin surface at the very root base of the follicle. In as few as two appointments you can eliminate hair…essentially forever.

4. Get Those Crunches In…Not the Crunch Berries

While no one wants to hear it, exercise is extremely beneficial towards sculpting your summer bod. But, instead of focusing on cardio, focus on muscle building exercises like crunches, push-ups, and other simple movements that utilize your body weight as the resistance.

This way you’ll be toning while burning calories and increasing your metabolic burn. Resistance training is scientifically proven to be more effective at building and maintaining muscle than cardio on its own.

Use the stuff around your house to boost your workout with more weight. Don’t go out and buy equipment and weights in the beginning. Use gallon jugs of water, bottles of laundry detergent, bags of dog food. Just start lifting heavy stuff to boost muscle production.

If you need an assist, pick up an inexpensive set of resistance bands. Or invest in a full-body workout portable system, like this one

5. Use Your Backyard As a Natural Tanning Bed

One of the best ways to make your body look sleeker is by boosting your baseline tan. This can hide imperfections in your skin, stretch marks, and make you look healthier in the process.

Use your backyard as a personal tanning bed here in Florida. Make sure to use a substantial SPF of sunscreen though to avoid burning. Better yet you can use a sunless tanner that can give you a more consistent color over time. Without laying out in the sun.

The more tan you are the better your skin looks and the fewer imperfections you can see.

Accept That Perfection is Impossible and Enjoy The Beach Anyway

The best thing about the COVID-19 quarantine (if we can find the bright spot in the awful of it all), is that we are all in the same boat. Everyone has been taking a bit too much comfort in quarantine baking, junk food, and tv watching.

We have all been dealing with this unprecedented world event together. While it’s horrible, it’s nice to take comfort in all of us dealing with it together. No one is going to be at the top of their diet and exercise regimen this year. Gyms were closed for the first half of the year. No one is going to be rocking that perfect bod.

So, cut yourself some slack and get out into the world. Maintain a safe distance and enjoy the outdoors. Keep your energy and spirits up through the power of the sun.
